Carhartt Frequently Asked Questions
|
What is the difference between Brown Duck and Sandstone?
Brown Duck is a tightly woven canvas fabric made of 100%
ring-spun cotton. Sandstone is the very same fabric that has
been treated using a process called micro-sanding that result in
a much softer hand or almost a brushed look to the fabric.
What is the difference in your linings?
Carhartt work wear and outerwear are designed to take you from
season to season, providing exceptional comfort and warmth. Each
lining is engineered to provide a specific level of comfort and
warmth in any weather.
Artic Quilt - Nylon taffeta quilted to a layer of high
loft polyester batting... ensures maximum warmth when it is too
cold for anything else.
Sherpa - 7 oz pile lining with a fiber content of 70%
acrylic and 30% polyester.
Quilt Flannel - 100% brushed polyester tricot quilted to
polyester batting provides softness and warmth without layering.
Midweight Quilt - Durable smooth nylon taffeta with
resilient polyester batting delivers warmth without bulk for
outer layering in moderate conditions.
Blanket - Non-Bulky acrylic/polyester blended to provide
a layer of warmth on those cold mornings.
Thermal - 100% polyester raschel knit adds an extra layer
of comfort and warmth in cool weather.
How do I launder my Carhartt garment?
Please refer to the washing instruction label inside your
Carhartt garment for appropriate laundering guidelines.
Do I need to retreat my Carhartt garment?
Carhartt recommends that you do retreat your coat/jacket with a
water repellent product.
How do I choose my size in Bibs vs. Coveralls?
Dress in the clothes you will be wearing under the bibs or
coveralls. Remember to allow for extra clothes on those cold
days or for reaching and stretching. Then measure around the
waist for ordering bibs and measure around the chest for
ordering coveralls. Usually moving up 2 sizes from your regular
pant size will get you very close.
How does Carhartt sizing run?
Carhartt products are full cut for more freedom of movement and
a comfortable fit. Order your Carhartt products in your actual,
correct size.
How much will Carhartt shrink after washing?
This work wear is oversized enough to counteract normal
laundering shrinkage. Sizing should be accurate after washing.
If you prefer your work wear loose fitting, go ahead and order
the next size.
Should I order a larger size if I layer other garments underneath?
Yes. Layering is a very effective way to stay warm but it also
means you need a larger size to accommodate the extra clothing
underneath. We suggest measuring your size while you wear the
undergarments you plan to use.
What is the difference between a regular and tall size?
How do I know if I should order a regular or a tall?
We recommend the following. If you are 5'7" to 5'11" order a
regular size. People from 5'11" to 6'3" need a tall.
